Welcome
Arise Botanicals is the work of herbalist, Alex Svoboda. My practice is based around client-centered herbal consultations, hands-on workshops, seasonal products and custom herbal formulations. I practice in the Western herbal tradition as a certified clinical herbalist and nutritionist. Many of the remedies I use are locally cultivated by myself or other trusted herbalists and farmers. Sourcing remedies from the ecosystems we’re integrated into is an important part of the medicine I offer.
My mission is to help people connect to the earth centered healing that brings about transformative change. Whether in the garden or out in the community, I carry a deep reverence and respect for both plants and people. You are your own best healer. I’m here with a toolbox of herbal allies to help address the roots of your health concerns and weave your healing into an ecosystem of care. We never heal alone.
Arise Botanicals is a resource for compassionate and accessible community based holistic care.
Workshops
Cultivating Skills
Arise Botanicals offers classes in partnership with Family Services, Community Crops, Morrill Hall, Bright Lights, Central Community College, Southeast Community College and more. I also partner with local businesses to offer small hands-on workshops and pop-up events. Over the past year, I’ve been invited into existing programming with a number of community partners. This has been a joy to expand into. If you would like to invite Arise Botanicals to bring educational events to your group, organization or business, please read more under Workshop Offerings and reach out via my contact form.

Clinic
herbal Consultations
Many people are drawn to herbal medicine, but don’t know where to start or which remedy might be the best fit for them. Arise Botanicals is a resource for down-to-earth herbal consultations. I emphasize compassionate and individualized care, focusing on the root causes instead of symptoms. Emphasis is placed on gentle remedies, daily routines and meeting people where they’re at without judgment. Some areas of specialization include: anxiety, burnout, depression, reproductive health, digestion and skin issues.
Sessions are available in-person or over zoom. Read more about scheduling and what to expect when working with an herbalist here.
While you’re here, I invite you to download a copy of my infosheet on Making Medicinal Teas: A Looseleaf Primer. This is something I often share with clients and in workshop as herbal infusions are potent, effective and easily made at home.
