We're excited to announce that we are now scheduling herbal health coaching sessions with Alex. As we're working through our waiting list, clinic appointments are currently available on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am - 4pm.
What to expect
When you schedule an appointment, you will receive intake paperwork. Please plan on filling this out and returning it before we meet. The intake appointment can last from 1-2 hours depending on the depth of health history and concerns you would like to discuss. This intake is primarily a place for conversation and observation. You will leave with initial suggestions for your healthcare homework and I (Alex) will dedicate myself to researching and formulating remedies and solutions or next steps to discuss and implement during our follow up appointment. Working with an herbalist is gaining an ally to listen; to look at the big picture of your mental, physical, spiritual and emotional health; to decipher the often confusing world of holistic and plant based remedies; and to walk with you as you take steps towards owning your health.
Follow-up appointments are vital to the practice and process of working with holistic healthcare. We are all very unique in our experiences and histories and herbalism takes this into account along with a constantly evolving approach to formulations and recommendations for daily practices. After all, it has taken a lifetime to develop the chronic conditions many of us shoulder day-to-day. As you consider working with us, please keep in mind that more than one visit is expected to progress.
In the spirit of accessibility, we offer consultations on a sliding scale of $40-90 per hour (this does not include the price of herbal remedies.) After the first hour, fees are prorated in 15 minute increments. No income verification is needed. You decide what you are able to pay based on your financial resources. A sliding scale is a tool that, when implemented effectively, results in everyone paying a similar percentage of their income. An income worksheet is available to help you determine where you may fall on the sliding scale. We believe that everyone should have access to our services at Arise Botanicals. The office is located on the second floor of The Sage House (1834 Ryons St), but we can meet on the first floor if needed. There are five steps up to the front door with a secure handrail. There are bathrooms on the first and second story of the house. If you have questions or mobility concerns, please let us know. We can arrange a home visit with you.
